    St Pauls School Queensland Swimming Champions

    On the 22nd of March last, at the TAS Swimming Carnival, the St Paul’s School (Bald Hills, Queensland, Australia) 13 Years Boys Swim Team were crowned Swimming Champions in their division!

    Congratulations to Joshua Mearns (Year 8, Gladius), Corey Chalmers (Year 7, Taja), Lachlan Creswell (Year 7, Gladius) and Lachlan Delforce (Year 8, Taja). See picture. Super-fish Lachlan Creswell was also awarded as the 13 Years Boys TAS Age Champion.

    St Paul's School Queensland BATTER UP

    A number of talented St Paul’s cricketers have been selected in the Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association U12 teams. Lucius Stockdale (Year 6) as a fast bowler in the Championship team to play in Cairns in Early December and Hamish McDonald (Year 6) as a keeper/ batsman. Furthermore Lachlan Nye (Year 6) as a batsman and Alex Simpson (Year 6) as a fast bowler.

    All four boys will play in the Ian Healy Cup in separate teams in early January. They are currently all very busy with extra training and trial matches. Congratulations boys!

    St Pauls School Brisbane Music Fest

    Recently, many of the ensembles at St Paul’s School entered the MusicFest competition, held at Iona College. The competition ran over a period of two weeds and consisted of four main categories: strings, concert bands, choirs and stage bands.

    As over 50 schools from throughout Queensland attended there was some stiff competition, but all the ensembles pulled through to come home with some excellent results. Not only was it a great challenge to play some tricky repertoire in a state-of-the-art auditorium, it was awesome to see the other schools perform.

    Term 4 Tennis Coaching will commence this week at St Paul’s. There are various vacancies available in most groups ranging from Prep to Year 12. As the weather warms up it is a perfect time to encourage the children to learn and enjoy the game of tennis.

    St Pauls School Brisbane International Schools Challenge

    Recently, two St Paul’s tennis teams competed in the Brisbane International Schools Challenge – Metropolitan North.

    Team 1 consisted of Adeline Tan (Year 4), Lachlan Greer (Year 4), Hannah Weller (Year 4) & Flynn Spencer (Year 5). Unfortunately, Team 1 lost in their pool matches by just one game.

    Team 2 comprised of Kanika Jayathilake (Year 6), Oscar Tan (Year 6), Marcus Weller (Year 6) & Jessica Spiller (Year 6). Team 2 won all their pool matches, making it through to the quarter finals, semi-finals and lastly the grand final.

    This year Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaid, South Australia, entered five teams in the South Australia RoboCup Junior Competition across two competition categories - Soccer and Rescue. The hard work that our Robotics Club members and their coaches put in during the year paid off with our boys winning first place in both the junior and senior Soccer and third place in the senior Rescue.

    The South Australian College of English or SACE, has re-introduced the SACE English and Demi-pair programme. The SACE English and Demi-pair programme will be offered at SACE Melbourne and SACE Adelaide campuses for 2017 (and this year if students are interested). The demi-pair placement fee is AUS$ 450, on top of the regular English classes fee.

    Congratulations to siblings Zane Baxter (Year 9) Jaime Baxter (Year 7), of St Pauls' School in Bald Hills, Queensland, who both placed at the Australian Surf Lifesaving Pool Rescue Championships over the weekend! Zane competed in the U15 division and came away with a silver medal (second place). Jaime competed in the U12 division and took home bronze (third place). Fantastic achievement, guys!
